I'm Rodrigo, a UX design leaderwith a passion for creatingimmersive digital experiences

I am passionate about developing products, people, and design processes while providing guidance, and mentoring in the UX/UI craft.

As a kid, I enjoyed sketching, as many kids do, but that led me to exploring different mediums. Throughout my adult life, I took on painting and even sold a few.

I started out my career in video production and post-production as a video editor because the medium intrigued me. This allowed me to be creative while telling a story to large audiences. During my video editing days, I also began learning graphic and motion design. I even took a week-long 3D modeling Maya course in California.

In 2006, my brother and I started a small digital agency, motion color sound, to sell our design expertise while also learning by doing. We produced videos, 2D animations, web banners, websites, training modules...basically any kind of digital products we could sell. It was when I was learning to design websites that I started to get into user experience and the psychology  of the craft. I immediate fell in love with learning the softer skills on how to appeal to humans in providing intuitive and useful products. It made sense that business would want to spend the time and money to create products that customers would actually use.

In 2011, my brother went on to start a new startup, leaving me to run motion color sound by myself. By 2013, I was looking for new opportunities and that's when I joined IBM's digital agency, IBM iX.
It was at IBM that I was able to apply the principles of user experience at an enterprise level and deepen my business knowledge of product design.
